The JR Surfboards Kirra SurfStock Junior Teams is shaping up to be an all time one day club teams event this Saturday 7th November, turning into a premier 20 years and under teams event, with a star studded field of some of the best juniors in Australia.
16 clubs from Noosa to Ballina have submitted some of their best juniors with 4 x 20 years and under, 1 x 16 & under and 1 x 12 & under. The Kirra Surfrider Club will host the inaugural Junior Teams as part of the Kirra SurfStock Festival on Saturday as a 1 day competition from 8am until 4pm. All Clubs are to meet at the Kirra Surf Club at 7am (Qld) for the check in.
What makes this event even more challenging is an All Girls Team competing against the guys. The Kirra SurfStock All Girls feature both the Doyle sisters Amiya and Brodie who are in the Snapper Surfriders, joined by the McNeven sisters Bridey and Jamie also of Snapper, and Olivia Wheeler of Kirra.
U/18 Qld state boys champion and rated 15th on the Australian Pro junior circuit Jack Freestone will compete for his club Kirra Surfriders, joined by Jesse Allen, Sam Clift and Mitch Duggan. The Snapper Surfriders will have top rating pro juniors Mitch Crews and Blake Ainsworth, the Peira- Ryan brothers and Dexter Muskins, while North End will have Chris Bennetts and the Thorne Brothers.
There’s $1,000 prizemoney on the line, with a beautiful hand carved trophy from Jason Williams also up for grabs. Full competition draw details available here (PDF)
