Isaac Paddon & The Tides

Isaac Paddon

Songs with meaning, sung with passion, and performed bursting with emotion. Raw organic folk rock, with a smooth taste of the carribean. With strong influences from artist like Neil young, Bob Marley and the Wailers, the Beatles Jeff Buckley , Bob Dylan ,to name just a few. The diversity in Isaac’s music taste shines through in his own creations.

Hailing from far Northern New South Wales, Isaac is no stranger to live audiences and big stages, and together, both solo and with his band The Tides, he has played on more than 60 different stages. After rocking out the lilly pad stage of the 2005 gold coast Big Day Out to an audience of over 2000, Isaac has since captivated capacity crowd numbers on the backroom stage in Byron Bay’s Great Northern Hotel on Bluesfest and Splendor In The Grass weekends; wooed capacity crowds in Yamba’s Pacific Hotel, and appeared on bunch of surf films, lifestyle, and sports programs including The Sydney Weekender , Fuel TV and Channel 9 documentaries.

The track HERE COMES THE SUN was surf pick of the week on ABC’s TRIPLE J while other tracks like A STONES THROW FROM HOME , ALWAYS ON THE RUN, FLOWERS AND WEEDS, AND SATURDAY MORNING all received airplay on  TRIPLE J’S HOME AND HOSED and ROOTS AND ALL programs. ABC and community radio stations have supported Isaac with air play, live radio performances and interviews.

Emerging onto the live Roots music scene in 2003, Isaac Paddon formed his band, The Tides and released his HERE COMES THE SUN EP. In January 2006 Isaac then independently released a full-length album entitled A STONES THROW FROM HOME. Through 2008 performed mainly at surf festivals including The Noosa Festival of surfing, and The Australian Festival of Surfing held earlier in the year at Port Macquarie. Isaac and his band then took time off from being on the road and created their 3rd full length album – WHERE WE ONCE STOOD.

After touring through 2007 they formulated a collection of tunes that became crowd favorites. The album takes on a warm and organic tone, with the emphasis on staying true to their live sound. Recorded in the Bilambil Valley Hall in Northern NSW, the Tides chose to do things in a ‘rustic’ way, which reflects the overall mood of the album. Songs vary from slow burning country ballads to reggae infused alternative rock.

Released January 17th 2009, WHERE WE ONCE STOOD is available on ITUNES and in stores across Australia and New Zealand through GREEN MEDIA DISTRIBUTION.
