Birdy & The Quiet Excitement

Let Kirra Be Kirra! This impassioned chant is a plea to restore our precious Kirra Point to its former glory. Penned by surfer/musician ‘Birdy’ and recorded with his band ‘The Quiet Excitement’, the catchy reggae tune has become an anthem for the cause.

I’ve had some of my deepest, longest and most intense barrels out at Kirra back in the day. I hope my children may also have the opportunity to experience the beauty, power and sheer majesty of a lined up Kirra Point wave.

Birdy and his band have recently returned from a national tour to launch their debut album, ‘Glad to be Alive’. The album has had glowing reviews and received airplay Australia wide. ‘Let Kirra Be Kirra’ is the first single from the album and is available for download from itunes at www.helpsavekirra.com. Surfers around the world are supporting the cause with one dollar from each download going to the Surfrider Foundation ‘Save Kirra Fund’.
