SUP Race
Stand Up Paddle Race
Greenline SUP Race Winners (L to R): Troy Pease - 3rd, James Billy Watson - 1st, Travis Grant - 2nd.
The inaugural Greenline Paddlesurf SUP Race will take place at 8.00am on Sunday 8th November between Currumbin Vikings SLSC and Kirra SLSC and will be held in tandem with the Denis Callinan Memorial Beach Walk.
Designed to be a fun paddle for all who want to join in, not just for the top paddlers or racers. There are prizes for placings in different age groups and women plus spot prizes to be won during the event, however this is not deemed to be a serious race and is open to all craft. Sponsor GreenLine Paddlesurf manager Scott Penwarn said;
GreenLine is stoked to be part of the KSS, it is a fantastic way of bringing the whole surfing community together to show our support for the bringing Kirra back. The Kirra SurfStock is also a great way of showcasing the many facets of surfing/paddling and beach culture of the southern Gold Coast to the broader community locally and nationally.
While there are entry forms available, beach registration will be available on the day from the Southside of Elephant Rock, Currumbin. Entry fee is just $10.00. Sunday tides are favorable with low tides early and high tides just before lunch.
Please Note: Paddlers are requested to unload their paddling craft on the beach and park in the Currumbin WildLife Sanctuary carpark. After the paddle, a shuttle bus truck will be available to take the paddling equipment from Kirra back to Currumbin.
