Thursday, 5th November

10am Kirra Surfstock 2009 Media Launch at the Coolangatta Sands

With represenatives from Kirra Boardriders, Kirra Surf Club, Surfrider Foundation, Surfing Queensland, Connecting Southern Gold Coast, State Government, Gold Coast City Council plus Surfing identities and other sponsors.

7pm The Kirra Surfstock Opening Party at the Coolangatta Sands with Coopers.

Mega surf movie night with Tim Bonython’s Australian Surfing Movie Festival plus singer/ songwriter Nick Saxton, Burleigh band Tokyo Beef and international DJ Spin Easy.

Friday, 6th November

4pm Bob McTavish Book Launch

The legendary Bob McTavish will unveil his much anticipated book with an exclusive book launch and signing at the Kirra Surf Store.

6pm “Night of Legends” Surfrider Foundation Fundraiser at Kirra Surf Club

With special guest Bob McTavish, creator of the shortboard revolution, v-bottom and fantastic plastic machine. Bob will be speaking about his book launch and there will also be a presentation to the founding members of Surfrider Foundation Australia. Live music from Dan Hannaford & Dave Murray performing their well known song “Let Kirra Be Kirra” plus Mark Anthony’s tribute to Ronricco The Hypnotist and a memoribillia auction in support of Surfrider Foundation. Saturday, 7th November

Day Surfrider Foundation Annual Conference at Southern Cross University

8am – 4pm JR Surfboards Kirra Junior Teams Challenge.

Mobile from Kirra to D’Bah, a one day competition featuring 6 man junior teams (20 & under) between 16 clubs from   Ballina to Noosa, plus an individual aerial expression session.

10am – 4pm Bond University Beach Volleyball Contest

5.30pm Sandra L Rodgers Book Launch at Bilinga Surf Club, Bilinga

“Waves of Torment”, a novel about Vietnam and surfing in the 60’s.

6pm Grand Opening of SurfWorld Surf Museum, opposite Currumbin Sanctuary

6.30pm Matthew Pitts CD Launch at Cafe Le Monde, Kirra

8pm - 10pm Tim Bonython’s Jim Beam Australian Surf Movie Festival at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

Bring your chairs, bean bags, blankets and watch Tim’s epic collection under the stars.

Sunday, 8th November

Day Surfrider Foundation Annual Conference at Southern Cross University

7am Denis Callinan Beach Walk and Greenline SUP Race from Currumbin Vikings to Kirra Beach

Shuttle buses and transport trucks on hand to ferry boards and bodies back; gold coain donation for walkers, $10 for paddlers. Beach registration available on the south side of Elephant Rock, water and sunscreen provided with rest stations at Tugun, Bilinga & North Kirra.

8am – 5pm Kirra Surfstock Beach Markets along Kirra beachfront

Food & drink stalls,  activities for families, kids jumping castles, art & photo memorabilia plus vendors

9am Dune Care Tree Planting at North Kirra

In association with Surfrider Foundation Gold Coast Tweed Chapter, with a planting of a memorial Pandanus tree dedicated to Denis Callinan.

10am - 11am Bond University Beach Volleyball Finals, Kirra Beach

11am Miss SurfStock Quest, Kirra Beach

10 top models as featured in Gold Coast Mail vie for the title of Miss Surfstock 2009. Sponsored by Bliss Hairdressers, KissnCousins, Kulu & Scott Poick SMP images.

12pm – 6pm The Surfstock Music Festival, in front of Kirra Surf Club

Dan Hannaford & Dave Murray, The Quiet Excitement, The Genes, Cupid’s Bullet, Minus Equilibrium, Isaac Paddon & The Tides, Max Judo with Lucas Proudfoot, Gas, Tokyo Beef, Westerly Windina, DJ Anthony Jackson and the Neverland bar DJ’s all play out the day in fine style.

8pm – Late  Kirra Surfstock Festival Wrap Up Party at The Coolangatta Sands with Coopers (again!)
